The alarm was raised simply earlier than 4pm after the fireplace started within the bed room of a property on Laburnum Drive.
The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service despatched two crews, from Oswestry and Ellesmere stations, together with an operations officer.

An announcement from Oswestry’s firefighters mentioned: “On arrival, crews discovered a hearth positioned in a bed room of the property. Firefighters remoted the fuel and electrical energy provides as a precaution.

“Two respiration equipment wearers used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fireplace. A air flow fan was used to clear smoke from the property and a thermal imaging digicam was used to test for any remaining hotspots.
“The incident was introduced underneath management rapidly and safely.”
