John Harvey, of Clive Barracks in Tern Hill, Market Drayton, was discovered responsible at Shrewsbury Crown Courtroom on Thursday 13 February following a nine-day trial.
The court docket heard how within the early hours of July 7, 2024, the 25-year-old approached a lady in her 20s, who he didn’t know, within the Mardol space of the city centre.
Harvey then sexually assaulted the girl and raped her twice. He then fled the scene.
The sufferer contacted police instantly after the incident, and officers had been in a position to rapidly find Harvey hiding within the males’s bathrooms at Shrewsbury Railway Station.
Harvey was then arrested and charged with two counts of rape and one depend of sexual assault. He was discovered responsible of all three counts by a jury.
