A person recognized for his anti-social behaviour in Shrewsbury has been sentenced to 14 weeks after he breached the phrases of his Prison Behaviour Order (CBO).
David Severn, aged 45 and of no fastened abode, appeared at Telford Magistrates Courtroom yesterday, Wednesday 9 July, charged with breaching his CBO.
Severn was given a three-year CBO in September 2023, which meant in that point he couldn’t refuse to depart a premises or space when requested to take action, to not verbally abuse or use foul language directed in the direction of any officer from the native authority or members of the general public and should not drink alcohol with Shrewsbury city centre, except in a licensed premises.
This 12 months alone, Severn has been arrested seven instances for being in breach of his CBO.
Sergeant Gary Lansdale, from the Shrewsbury City Centre Crew, stated: “We have been granted the CBO towards Severn in 2023, who’s a persistent nuisance in Shrewsbury city centre, inflicting members of the general public and native companies alarm and misery.
“On account of his continued anti-social behaviour Severn was warned he may go to jail if he continued to breached it. That has occurred now, and we are going to proceed to carry such criminals to justice.
“We take breaches severely as they’ve a unfavourable influence on the companies in our city and in the end can influence the purchasers too as prices to retailers enhance.”
